You will need to have a small amount of blood drawn for the Hepatitis A test. This will be done quickly and painlessly with sterilized equipment at the laboratory.
Our labs use the FDA Approved Hep A Antibody screening test to look for the presence of Hepatitis A Virus in the bloodstream. Once infected with hepatitis A, the human body will create proteins in response to the infection that we can identify through blood testing.
Avoid urinating for at least one hour before arrival.

Your test results indicate whether or not a presence of Hepatitis A is detectable in your bloodstream.
There is no need to abstain from eating or drinking before the test.
Hepatitis A cannot be cured. If you contract the disease, it will become important for doctors to keep an eye on your liver. There is a vaccination available for Hepatitis A. It is recommended for anybody and everybody.
Everybody residing in the United States is at risk of contracting Hepatitis A. Men who have engaged in sexual activities with other men are at a higher risk than the general population, but anybody can come down with it. Other risk factors that increase the odds of catching Hepatitis A include anal sex, oral sex and drug use.
When you get tested for Hepatitis A, the lab visit will take 10-15 minutes and your test results will become available to you two business days later.
