You will need to have a small amount of blood drawn. This will be done with sterilized equipment at the laboratory.
When you visit a lab and get tested for Hepatitis B, the testing methodology that we use is called Immunoassay (IA). A small amount of your blood will be drawn to conduct the test. You will not be subject to an uncomfortable swabbing procedure and there is no need for you to remove your clothing.
Avoid urinating for at least one hour before arrival.

Your test results indicate whether or not a presence of Hepatitis B is detectable in your bloodstream.
There is no need to abstain from eating or drinking before the test.
There is no cure for Hepatitis B available. However, most people will heal from the infection in a matter of a month or two. If you have been infected with Hepatitis B for more than three months, you should make an appointment with a doctor to discuss what you can do to keep your liver healthy.

When you get tested for Hepatitis B, you will spend 10-15 minutes in the lab and then your test results will become available to you two business days later.
