HSV 1 (Oral Herpes) Testing

When you visit a lab and get tested for Oral Herpes, the testing methodology that we use is called Immunoassay (IA). This test looks for antibodies that are detectable in your bloodstream which would indicate whether or not you are infected with the disease. A small amount of your blood will be drawn to conduct the test. You will not be subject to an uncomfortable swabbing procedure and there is no need for you to remove your clothing.
