Can A Kiss Transmit A STD?

"I would like to know if simple kissing causes any STD disease?"

- Anonymous

Sexually transmitted diseases are transmitted in a variety of ways, one of them being through saliva. Infected cells in the mouth can pass from one individual to a non-infected individual through kissing. Infection is most likely to pass during an active outbreak, however even if there is no current outbreak, STDs can still be transmitted through kissing. If you think you've come into contact with a sexually transmitted disease, be sure to get tested.
