Question:

"My boyfriend is going to take a STD test for the first time. How is the normal STD test process or procedure for a male?"

- Anonymous

Response:

Thank you for your question. Everybody should know what to expect when they go in to get tested for STDs.

The way things work can vary from testing center to testing center, so the answer you're reading should not be taken as a general guide for STD tests across the board.

The way testing works at STDAware is first to sign up on the website for what tests you want to take. You can also call our toll free customer service number and have them take your information. After you are done submitting your information, you will receive a confirmation email.

This confirmation email has a .pdf attachment. That is your lab order. You will need to bring it with you when you go to your testing center.

When you arrive at the testing center, you will need to give a blood sample and a urine sample.

Two business days later, your results will be sent to the email address that you gave us when you registered.

That's it. You will not be contacted by mail or by phone. We will only contact you by email.
