Response:

Without first getting tested, it's impossible to say for sure. However, one possibility is that both of you are experiencing some symptoms that can be caused by gonorrhea and chlamydia infections of the throat.

Gonorrhea and Chlamydia are both spread through infected vaginal fluids and semen. They are bacteria that can infect the throat, anus, penis and vagina. In a lot of cases, these infections can be asymptomatic, which means you will not feel sick or even realize that you are carrying the disease. This means it is feasible for you to just have a sore throat without noticing any problems in the vagina or penis.

You should get yourself tested right away. The good news is, if your tests come back positive for either chlamydia or gonorrhea or both, you have options available. Both chlamydia and gonorrhea are curable STDs. The treatments are straightforward and do not take long to finish.
